Assoc Prof Dr Adli Azam bin Mohammad Razi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM, and a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital Johor, Medini. A UKM and UM graduate, he completed his thoracic surgery fellowship in Korea. He was among the pioneers who established UiTM’s cardiothoracic surgery service in 2013 and performed Malaysia’s first robotic thoracic surgery in 2018. Actively involved in postgraduate training, he serves on the MBCTS and UiTM-IJN programme committees. His clinical interests include minimally invasive thoracic surgery and off-pump CABG. Dr Adli is also a founding member of SEATS and actively contributes to both national and international cardiothoracic societies.

A Sabahan native, he pursued his interest in oncology, and in 2021 he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Oncology from University Malaya. Devoted to providing optimal cancer care especially in the rural parts of Sabah, Aldrin has been involved in several outreach programs, visiting clinics, and clinical trials. Together with his dedicated team, in September 2022, the first stereotactic radiosurgery service was established in Sabah.

Prof Anand Sachithanandan is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon to Sunway Medical Center & Subang Jaya Medical Center. He is the founding president of Lung Cancer Network Malaysia (LCNM), a disease-centric NGO dedicated to improving care and outcomes for lung cancer locally. He has championed and pioneered lung cancer screening in Malaysia including adoption of innovative AI-enhanced imaging and use of biomarkers. A strong advocate for multi disciplinary care, under his leadership LCNM has developed several national firsts to enhance lung cancer care including a digital patient navigation guide , a patient counselling tool for specialist doctors and clinical practice guidelines. Prof Anand is a clinical professor at the School of Medical & Life Sciences, Sunway University and adjunct professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya.

Dr. Benedict Dharmaraj is a Consultant Thoracic and General Surgeon, who is currently attached with the Thoracic Surgery Unit of Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Beacon Hospital, Selangor. Born in Perak, he completed both his basic medical degree and Masters in General Surgery in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2006 and 2015 respectively. He completed his training in Thoracic Surgery in 2022. To date, he has been involved in over 20 publications pertaining to thoracic surgery, including a book chapter on VATS segmentectomy. His forte includes VATS lobectomy for lung cancer, VATS thymectomy, Non-intubated thoracoscopic surgery (NiVATS) and complex chest wall resection and reconstruction. He currently serves as a committee member in the Evaluation Committee for Thoracic Surgery under the Malaysian Medical Council. In 2009, she joined the Malaysian Health Technology Assessment Section (MaHTAS), Ministry of Health where she gained interest and expertise in Health technology assessment (HTA). Dr. Loong obtained his medical degree with a Distinction in Surgery from The University of Hong Kong in 2003. Dr Izzuna Mudla Mohamed Ghazali is a Public Health Physician and the Deputy Director of the Medical Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia. MaHTAS evaluates health technologies which includes medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical and surgical procedures, public health interventions and digital technologies for decisions on reimbursement, clinical practice, procurement, pricing and service coverage. Dr Izzuna is actively involved at the local and international levels. Prof Dr Mohammad Haniki Nik Mohamed obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (USM, 1992) and Doctor of Pharmacy (University of Tennessee, 1996), followed by a post-doctoral fellowship before returning to USM. Dr Tan has a strong interest in advancing research and clinical practices in the areas of thoracic oncology, airway diseases, and ILD, regularly participating in various investigator-initiated studies (ISR) to contribute to the development of effective treatments and management strategies for these conditions. Her dedication to improving patient outcomes in respiratory medicine is complemented by her involvement in cutting-edge research and her commitment to furthering knowledge in her field.

Dr Voon Pei Jye is the Head and Consultant Medical Oncologist, Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology, Hospital Umum Sarawak (Sarawak General Hospital). He is also an Adjunct Professor Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He read medicine at UNIMAS. He subsequently obtained his MRCP (United Kingdom) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from National University of Singapore. Thereafter, he received his advanced specialist training in Medical Oncology from National University Hospital Singapore. He has also completed his Phase 1 Drug Development clinical research fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University of Toronto, Canada. He is an active investigator for numerous cancer trials encompassing early phase through to late phase studies. He has keen interest in oncology development therapeutic and thoracic oncology. Dr Voon has published in various peer reviewed journals. He is a recipient for Hold’em for Life Oncology Fellowship Award, University of Toronto. He has also won the Scholar Training Award from AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics 2021.
